Spring Break-done!

From my list-this is what I did on my Spring Break:

Things to do while on Spring Break:
1) Walk Tucker every day *
2) Catch up on all cleaning of the Raley home *
3) Work out at least 4 times from Sunday-Sunday *
4) Catch up on all homework i.e. readings, projects, assignments (finishing up today!)
5) Prep for Gender Theory lecture (!!!)
6) Read a lot
7) Prep for research interview(s)
8) Go somewhere (hopefully...)
9) Celebrate 3 years of togetherness with Der <3 via dinner at The Melting Pot (a first for us both!)
10) Buy Shelley's birthday present

5 out of 5 not too bad...I watched a lot of t.v., read, cleaned out the car, did almost $20 worth of laundry, hung out with some friends, WENT TO GATLINBURG (details to come later)...it wasn't too shabby minus my weird day.

*These tasks I didn't fully complete but did partake in a bit (I worked out 3 times, walked Tuck 2 times, did a lot of cleaning but may/may not finish it today).

All in all-I'm content with Spring Break.

Because for the next 7 weeks my life and soul will be taken from me via school BUT I've got a quick trip to Oklahoma in 4 weeks to help break things up!

YAHOO!

3 years

Yesterday-Derrick and I celebrated 3 years of being together!  We were best friends first, had a quick stint of lovers next, and lastly I finally said yes to being his girlfriend (after being asked every day once he admitted he liked me in February).

Man oh man how time has flown by! Sometimes it seems like YEARS longer and then other times it feels like it's been a few months!  Check out the pictures to see some fun chronology of our relationship!

*Excuse the birds...this was in Romeo and Juliet-where Derrick and I met and became best friends. 2007*
*Here-my mom came to visit and a group of us went out for Mexican.  Der said this was when he thought I looked very pretty that night. 2008*
*We went West! Derrick had finally confessed he liked me on my drive to Indiana in February and swore to "woo" me in the West.... 2008*
*Wooed. I officially said I'd be his on March 9th, 2008.*
*Late 2008.*
*Late 2008*
*At my sister's wedding-September 6th, 2008*

Weird

I just drank my coffee while in the bathtub. Not trying to multi-task but it seemed to make sense...weird, right?  It was actually pretty relaxing especially considering I think I did something to my left tibia (?) yesterday after running.  At first I thought it was shin splints but since it's right below my knee it may not be my actual shin...whatever, it hurts.

I am in a weird mood today. Maybe it's because I know I should be working on my Statistics homework or reworking my interview questions or cleaning our house or sleeping....

It's weird.

I'm not trying to repeat the word weird for some artistic point to be made it's just that's how I can sum up how I feel today and most of yesterday.

Maybe I feel lazy on Spring Break? Maybe I feel deprived? Or over worked? I can't quite put my finger on it, ya know?  But I don't like it nor do I appreciate the way whatever "it" is is making me feel....

*Pouts*

I've decided to nix the coffee goal for March.  I frankly have no reason other than I like the drink and don't want to rid of it this month.  I know once it warms up I'll cut back drastically since I'm not a big hot coffee drinker when it's warm/hot outside.  But for now, since March is pissing me off by being cold (LOL) I shall drink my yummy coffee and like it.

Maybe I'm just being a baby.  I don't want to do anything right now. Read it: ANYTHING. And I don't think my depression is flaring up now do I have anything against doing homework/housework I just don't really feel like it.  And I need to feel like it because I have a lot of all of it to do.

*Pouts again*

I kind of feel like a pain in my own ass-does that make sense? LOL.  I've been up since 7:00 this morning and have done really nothing.  I read a chapter by George, took a bath, made some coffee, checked my emails and such, and am now scouring through Target.com looking for stuff to fill my front hallway.  I have so much I need to do...and can't find the motivation to actually do it! Grrrrrrrrr.

On a happier note: later today I will be booking a little get-away for me and Der to Gatlinburg! The roads are clear (so it seems) so we're just gonna go a couple of days to relax and enjoy the mountains and the city! Yay!

I'll give you those details once it's set in stone.

Now I need to make myself do something productive...where to start?

Love and kisses from the Mrs.,

Design help

Friends-I need help!

Our hallway is now bare after pulling down the frames in hope of updating some of the pictures that hung there.  Cute, but bare.

It's a nice soft green color on the wall-white front and closet doors.

But I need help-what should I do with it?  I have a few ideas but I'd like input from you guys first!  Should we get an entrance rug?  A table and topiary? Re-hang the pictures?  Nothing? I just don't know but it's so borrrrrring at the moment and I'd like to start on it this Spring Break.

Any thoughts?  Any different ideas?

HELP!

Spring Break

Well it's almost here! S.P.R.I.N.G. B.R.E.A.K.

Sounds delicious, right?  Well...it's not so much when plans have fallen through =(  We originally planned on going to FL to visit the in-laws but time conflicts & financial stress in their schedules didn't work with when we could come.  No Disney, Harry Potter world, or beach *sniffle sniffle*.

So we then tired to go to Gatlinburg but the roads are closed! Every route.  Very sad indeed.  I'm going to keep my eyes on the roads because if we can go then we'll do it-even for 2-3 days!  I was super stoked about actually doing something for Spring Break and now I'm stuck at home trying to figure something out...lame.

I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass-I just can't help feeling so let down and it's really no one's fault!  And it seems kinda petty but I have already taken off work and really wanted a little vacation....

I'm trying not to be Debby Downer so I've decided to make a list of the things I do plan on doing over Spring Break and if we are able to go somewhere (maybe Six Flags in ATL? Huntsville Space Museum?) then that'll be awesome!

Things to do while on Spring Break:

1) Walk Tucker every day
2) Catch up on all cleaning of the Raley home
3) Work out at least 4 times from Sunday-Sunday
4) Catch up on all homework i.e. readings, projects, assignments
5) Prep for Gender Theory lecture (!!!)
6) Read a lot
7) Prep for research interview(s)
8) Go somewhere (hopefully...)
9) Celebrate 3 years of togetherness with Der <3 via dinner at The Melting Pot (a first for us both!)
10) Buy Shelley's birthday present

Sounds like a good deal to get done if we don't go anywhere...hopefully we can for at least a day or two!

Let's see how I fair-this all starts on Sunday, March 6 and ends Sunday, March 13.

Cheers,
JeR

March Madness

What a perfectly fit title-March will be very crazy for me but fun as well! Let's see what I'm aiming to get done:

*Fun

1) Celebrate 3 years of togetherness with Der!
2) Go on Spring Break
3) Find a fun and meaningful gift for Shelley's 23rd birthday and then mail it (I think I've already got the idea)
4) Blog about Spring Break
5) Catch up on photo-a-day project-via postings on Facebook and actually taking them
6) Blog more
7) Finish The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes via the Kindle
8) Finish A Woman Doing Life: Notes from a Prison for Women by Erin George

*School

1) Complete Portfolio for Methods
2) Complete Stats Homework #3 AND Midterm and do well on them both!
3) Lead class discussion on Feminist Theory as GA (ubber excited)
4) Start research project and interviews
5) Keep up with Sundays as homework days
6) Delve into GA research and literature review(s)

*Health

1) Get back on workout wagon-via Zumba with Kristy, running/swimming with John/Derrick-at least 3 times per week
2) Decrease coffee/caffine intake to 3 times a week STARTING March 6th
3) Decrease fast food consumption (February was bad for this!)
4) Do more stretches in PM (a good relaxer after a long day)

How does it look? Too much? Too little?  We'll see once March 31st hits, won't we?

How'd February ware? Not so good....

Alright so I thought I'd get a lot more done in Feb than I actually accomplished-man oh man was it a busy busy month for me!  Let's check the scores, shall we?

*Home

1. Clean out Manroom desk drawers & closet (FAIL-No time!)
2. Hang pictures in [now empty] hallway (FAIL-I was hoping to get updated pics printed out but I haven't put them all on my jump drive for printing yet...hopefully soon?)
3. Update blog with pics of the new home improvements (FAIL-just forgot, lol)
*School

1. Make A's (if grades are back!) (COMPLETE? I haven't received 1 more grade yet and since it's March officially it'll be pushed for those goals...but so far everything has been an A)
2. Lecture on Gender and Family (COMPLETE! So much fun and great discussions)
3. Help with Theory research topics and DuBois video (COMPLETE)
4. Make Sundays homework/research/reading days (for the things I couldn't quite get done M-Sat) (COMPLETEISH-I didn't get everything I needed done done on Sundays but for the most part I could at least catch up)

*Friends

1. Celebrate Dylan's1st birthday (COMPLETE-check the details of his birthday here)
2. Celebrate Kelly's 24th birthday (COMPLETE-I gave her the gifts and card, but we're going out for dinner Friday night to finish it off-still celebrated though)
3. See "Medea" with Tonya Kelly (COMPLETE-outside of the audience being a bunch of RUDE asses, we had a good time and it was an iteresting renovation of the show.)
4. Visit Shelley in Indiana (COMPLETE! I was lame and forgot to take many pictures but I'll update on that with another blog)
5. Keep writing Destiny letters while she's in Navy boot camp (COMPLETE! I actually need to write her another one this week before she graduates! So proud of her.)

*Health

1. Cut coffee back [again] to 4 times per week or less (COMPLETE-but this time it was really hard! I guess because I had my ass kicked last week (and this) so I constantly wanted that yummy caffine-I managed but barely.)
2. DRINK MORE WATER, for real this time. (COMPLETE-but still not enough.  I can tell when I'm really in need of H2O so it's good my body likes that stuff =])
3. Change up exercise routines to include: running, elliptical, swimming, aerobics classes (FAIL-I mostly ran or did the elliptical-didn't make it to Zumba....)
4. Exercise (this goes with #3 BUT there is no stipulation as to how often I do it) (FAIL-There was a whole week where I didn't do anything (hell week #1) and I felt MISERABLE! It's also good to know that my mind and body really missed it)

*Fun

1. Finish The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes via the Kindle-I'm taking a break from the Hitchhikers series (since there are still 3 more books) with a bit of mystery (FAIL-but I'm so close! I've got like 82% read and plan on finishing by the end of the week. In my defense, I picked up another book and started reading it too so I may have finished if I didn't pick up another one, LOL)
2. Plan a Spring Break trip to ANYWHERE (COMPLETE! If we don't go see the in-laws in Florida (which is the original plan but finances on their part is making it sseem unlikely) then we're going to Gatlinburg for a few days! YAY!)
3. Sleep more (COMPLETISH-At first it was fine, then REALLY hard to get sleep, and then I caught back up again.  So win for me!)
4. Take Tucker on more walks (meaning at least more than 3 in the whole month like Janurary....)
(FAIL-Again, I think we went 3 times in the month...maybe next month?)
And the scores are:
COMPLETE- 13, FAIL-7

Definately not as bad as I figured but could still do better-it's obvious where my priorities lie, lol!

How do you think I'll do in March?  Let's see!
